Patinas – are developed on Steel, Brass, Bronze and Stainless as a result of a chemical reaction (typically a blend of acids on bare metal). Due to the natural inconsistencies in the localize properties of the metal, the reaction result will be unique with no two pieces being exactly the same. This is just one of the reasons patina finishes are so popular.
Blackened Steel – is one of the most significant trends in the metal fabrication industry today. This finish gives an upscale and sophisticated look. Blackened steel patinas feature appealing subtle mottling and varying color effects, resulting in no two pieces appearing exactly alike! The resulting inconsistencies and slight blemishes of a patina add to the overall look and are considered artistically desirable.
Polished Metal – popular finishes include a Mirror like highly polished finish (typically referred to as a #8). Brushed finish with defined directional grain (typically referred to as a #4). And Non-directional. Common metals for polishing are Stainless, Brass and Bronze.
